My design arrived with dull or dark print

Step-by-step instructions on how to reach us if your order arrived with dull or dark print.

If your printed item looks darker or duller than expected, we’ll help troubleshoot and make it right.

What to Send Us (So We Can Diagnose Quickly)

  • Email: info@markful.com

  • Include:

    • Your order number

    • Photos of what you received (good, even lighting; full product + a close-up)

    • The original artwork/headshot file you used (attach the file, not a screenshot)

    • Any helpful notes (e.g., “photo looks fine on my phone but prints dark”)

Why Prints Can Look Darker

  • Screen vs. print: Monitors are backlit and often brighter than print.

  • Low exposure/contrast: Original image is underexposed or low contrast.

  • Low resolution: Images below 300 DPI can soften and appear muddy.

  • Color space & profiles: Files in unusual color spaces or with heavy filters can shift on press.

Quick Tips for Next Time

  • Use high-resolution (300 DPI) images at final size.

  • Lighten underexposed photos and increase contrast slightly before upload.

  • Export photos/logos as PNG/JPG/PDF (avoid screenshots or images pulled from messaging apps).

  • For headshots, choose images taken in good, even light (avoid heavy shadows).

What Happens After You Email Us

  • We’ll review your photos and original file, identify the cause, and follow up with next steps—which may include file adjustments, recommendations, or reprint options depending on findings.
